Champions

They are the Champions!

Congratulations to George Fox and Harry Smith, Year 10, whose footballing skills have been rewarded by being in the winning team to scoop to the cup at the National Cerebral Palsy Under 16s Tournament at Lilyshaw National Sport Centre, Leicester.

Despite coping with disabilities as a result of Hemiplegia, which causes paralysis down one side of the body, and George being visually impaired and Harry partially deaf, the boys represented the North West of England and took their team to victory, playing five games of 7-aside.  They were both talent-spotted during their Saturday training when representing Lancashire and then signed up to represent the North West.  George has also been chosen to partake in the swimming paralympics with his eye on the 2016 Olympics!

Harry said "It was a brilliant experience which I wouldn't have missed for the world.

George said "I scored the winning goal and everyone just piled on top of me.  What a wonderful day."

Annette Rose, Teaching Assistant, who supports the students with their studies said "We are immensely proud of the boys and have only praise for their dedication and hard work both in and out of the classroom."  We all endorse that!
