We are situated in Lytham St. Annes, North West England, near the popular seaside resort of Blackpool.
The school has a long and proud history of excellence since opening in 1955 as Ansdell County Secondary School.
In 1999 we gained Technology College status from the Technology Colleges Trust leading to the name change of Lytham St. Annes High Technology College.
In 2007 we gained dual status as a Performing Arts College.
We have now changed our name to LSA Technology & Performing Arts College.

LSA Technology and Performing Arts College is a community school
maintained by Lancashire County Education Authority.
We are an 11 –18 Comprehensive and 6 Form Centre, offering seven years of successful education. As one of the largest schools in Lancashire, we can offer a wide range of curricular & extra-curricular activities, along with Technology and Performing Arts College status.
A College system ensures that students belong to smaller groups throughout school ensuring a continuity of staff and allowing family members and friendship groups to be kept together.
Our Sixth Form offers unrivalled opportunities for students. Here, in our caring, supportive and technologically advanced environment, each individual is known and valued.
LSA Technology & Performing Arts College is one of the largest schools in the North West of England but there is little danger of students finding the prospect daunting.
A College system ensures that students belong to smaller groups throughout school ensuring a continuity of staff and allowing family members and friendship groups to be kept together.
Our Pyramid Clubs and Peer Mentoring, by a group of Year 8s and 6 formers, protect our young students from feeling scared of 'big school', help them make friends, find their way around and quickly settle in.
Our size does mean, though, a wonderfully wide ranging curriculum and excellent facilities. The specialisms of Technology and Performing Arts enhance the opportunities offered to our students throughout their seven years of education.
Our 6th Form Centre, with its post 16 educational opportunities on the campus, encourages an increase in social activity across the age-range and presents young adult role models to younger students.
Recently LSA has been awarded Extended School status because of the provision on offer to our students, families and the wider community for providing a safe place for students before and after the school day, extra curricular activities, study facilities and assistance/guidance for parents when a need is identified. |
