Session 1: PSHE - Introduction to school: New Beginnings

Theme: explores the nature of friendship, change and dealing with this, school and coping with the transition from Primary school and explores the importance of learning, how we learn and how to improve it.

Theme: students look at the basics of money and how this can affect them

Session 3: PSHE - Healthy Bodies; Healthy Minds

Theme: students look at what it means to be healthy in terms of diet and mental and emotional wellbeing.

Session 4:  Careers: My Future and Skills

Theme: a series of 6 lessons to engage students in activities to develop key skills such as communication, team work, presentation skills, decision making and negotiation skills.

  1. Our island (jobs needed to make society work)
  2. The Stone Age Job centre
  3. The Moon mission and different jobs in our society (career management)
  4. Buying a car
  5. The Chocolate Box  and careers linked to it
  6. Writing a CV

Session 5: Citizenship - Celebrating Identity and difference

Theme: looks at personal identity and difference and diversity in the UK. The scheme ends with a lesson on community cohesion which encourages students to celebrate difference in Britain.
