EVERY DAY in the UK we throw away 24 million slices of bread, 5.8 million potatoes and 5.9 million glasses of milk. But it’s not just food that we waste every day… We also throw away a lot of food packaging. With this in mind, LSA helped to reduce the amount of waste from our school kitchen by restricting the use of plastic products on Monday 5th March and Tuesday 6th March as part of Waste Week which is a national waste saving campaign by The Pod (EDF Energy). We have had a service improvement review to gather feedback which we will use going forward to make additional improvement to save waste.
