Image of Winning Art Awards At Prestigious Ceremony

The Art Department celebrated at the prestigious Awards Ceremony of the ‘Pushing The Boat Out’ Exhibition scooping two top prizes. We won the overall exhibition prize and the 15 – 16 age group category. The exhibition is themed around the sea - inspired by the launch earlier this year of the new St. Anne’s RNLI lifeboat ‘Barbara Ann’.

Xander Lowe went up to receive the overall exhibition prize from St. Anne’s  Deputy Mayor for the collaborative sculpture ‘Drastic Plastic Reef’. The amazing £200 prize is to be shared amongst everyone involved in making the sculpture, Eva Booth, Xander Lowe, Charlotte Marsh, Ella Carey, Tilly Wilson, Klaudia Budner, Hannah Jeffrey and Brogane Murphy. Daisy Webster collected a £50 prize as winner of 15 – 16 age group with her portrait of a Fisherman.

The well attended event took place on Thursday evening 15th November at the Fylde Gallery at Lytham Booths. The art Department would like to thank Kate Cartmell for organising the exhibition and the wonderful awards ceremony. The exhibition is on until the end of the month and is supported by Fylde Council, St. Anne’s Town Council and the RNLI.
