Our students were treated to an exciting and engaging STEM experience as the Material World: Engineering the Future roadshow visited school. This fully funded, in-school theatre production is part of a long-standing partnership between BAE Systems, the Royal Air Force and the Royal Navy, and is celebrating its 21st year of inspiring young people across Great Britain.
Delivered by professional actors, the interactive performance followed characters Alex, Jody and Harry as they created a live TV show exploring the fascinating world of materials science. Through a fun and energetic session, students discovered how the materials we use every day connect to cutting-edge developments in aerospace, engineering and beyond.
The 45-minute show was packed with audience participation, bringing science to life in a way that was both accessible and memorable. Students were encouraged to think about how materials are chosen, how they behave, and the important role they play in shaping the modern world.
As well as supporting the science and design technology curriculum, the session also linked closely to careers education, helping students to see the wide range of opportunities available within STEM industries.
A big thank you to everyone involved in delivering such an inspiring and interactive experience. It was fantastic to see our students so engaged and excited about the future of science and engineering.
