Last year we were selected to judge the 2018 Lancashire Book of the Year Awards, which is the longest running young people's regional book award in the country. It's unusual to have this opportunity for two years running, but we were very grateful and our students enjoyed the experience immensely. And today students met the shortlisted authors at a major event, brilliantly organised by Lancashire Libraries.
The award remains one of the few book awards in which young people themselves are solely responsible for choosing both the shortlist and the overall winning book.
