9 January 2026

I'd like to wish the whole LSA community a happy new year and thank you all again for your ongoing support. The term has started very well indeed, following December's flu outbreak our young people have returned to school ready to learn and attendance has picked up well. We have certainly been fortunate that the extreme weather conditions that have hit most parts of the UK have bypassed the Fylde coast, we have been an ocean of calm amongst the tumult. This has been mirrored by the atmosphere within the school, where our work on routines and punctuality has created a settled, quiet and ordered environment. When I told you all that I was an old fashioned headteacher on the first week this is what I meant, schools, like good parenting rely on predictable, simple and easy to understand routines. Our young people have responded incredibly well and make us all proud to be LSA.
I'd like to thank parents and carers for their responses to our uniform consultation. We had nearly 600 returns, demonstrating the amazing level of engagement that we enjoy in this community. I will publish the findings next week and summarise the general approach before we go to the next stage of consultation. Our approach will be defined by simplicity and clarity, something I know you will all appreciate. I am by nature an optimist, so I am excited to see us continue to improve LSA in 2026. This community deserves a first-rate school and our young people have shown us what they are capable of, I am, as ever, proud to be LSA.
