LSA’s very own Mr Crompton is proving that talent, dedication and passion for sport last a lifetime. Just two weeks ago, he competed at the British Masters Championships in Derby, bringing home a bronze medal in the High Jump in his age group.
His achievements didn’t stop there – he also secured 5th place in the Pole Vault and came close to 4th place in the Discus, showing his all-round ability and determination to keep pushing himself at the highest level.
Reflecting on his journey, Mr Crompton shared how his love of high jump first began here at LSA. With the encouragement and support of former PE teacher Mr Story, he trained in the school gym and was inspired to compete. That guidance helped him go on to take part in three English Schools Championships, setting the foundations for a lifelong passion for athletics.
Mr Crompton’s story is a brilliant reminder of the lasting impact that teachers can have, and a true inspiration for our students today.
