Image of Art Students Develop Skills Through Observational Drawing

Students in the Art department have been taking part in an observational drawing session this week, using a collection of plants and natural forms as their inspiration. The classroom was filled with quiet focus as students explored shape, texture and detail through a range of drawing techniques.

Observational work is an important part of the GCSE course, helping students strengthen their accuracy, confidence and understanding of form. This session gave them the chance to slow down, look closely and build the skills that underpin successful creative work.

It was fantastic to see such concentration and care from everyone involved. The Art department looks forward to seeing how these studies develop into more refined pieces over the coming weeks.
