Image of Students Explore Apprenticeship Pathways at BAE Systems Samlesbury

A group of students recently visited the BAE Systems Samlesbury Learning Centre to learn more about apprenticeship opportunities and careers within the organisation.

During the visit, students had the chance to speak directly with current apprentices, gaining an honest insight into their journeys, day-to-day roles, and how they made the transition from school into the workplace. They also met members of the HR team, who explained the different routes into apprenticeships and the wide range of roles available.

The day included interactive workshops focused on what BAE Systems looks for in candidates, covering employability skills, attitudes to learning, and how students can stand out during the application process. Students were encouraged to ask questions and think about how their interests and strengths could align with future career options.

It was a valuable and inspiring experience that helped students better understand apprenticeships as a realistic and exciting pathway beyond school.
