Image of LSA Hosts First On-Site Sports Day in 25 Years

Lytham St Annes High School made history yesterday by hosting its first on-site Sports Day in 25 years, with students enjoying a fantastic day of competition, teamwork and school spirit.

Throughout the day, each year group took to the field in turn to compete across a wide range of events. Alongside the traditional track and field competitions such as sprints, distance races, relays, long jump and throwing events, students also embraced a number of exciting new challenges, including Tug of War and the Gutter Run, which quickly became favourites among both competitors and spectators.

With glorious sunshine throughout the day, conditions could not have been better. The positive atmosphere was evident from the first event through to the last, with students encouraging one another, representing their houses with pride and giving their very best in every competition.

The event was a huge success and showcased the enthusiasm, resilience and sportsmanship of our students. Whether competing for valuable house points, supporting friends from the sidelines or helping to ensure events ran smoothly, everyone played an important part in making the day such a memorable occasion.

A huge congratulations goes to every student who took part and represented their house so brilliantly. We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the PE department for their outstanding organisation, as well as the many staff members who volunteered their time throughout the day to officiate events, supervise activities and support students.

Our media team captured plenty of photographs and video footage throughout the day, and we are currently putting together a full Sports Day highlights video. We look forward to sharing it with our school community very soon.

For now, enjoy this small selection of photographs from a fantastic day that will undoubtedly become a highlight of the LSA calendar once again.
