Moving Up Day Gives Future Year 7 Students a Warm Welcome to LSA

Lytham St Annes High School was delighted to welcome our incoming Year 7 students for Moving Up Day, giving them the opportunity to experience life at LSA ahead of joining us officially in September.

The day began with a warm welcome in the theatre from Mr Corbett, Mrs Fish and Mr Spacey, who introduced students to the school and helped settle any first-day nerves. Following the welcome, students met their new form tutors and classmates before heading off to enjoy a full timetable of lessons across the school.

Throughout the day, students experienced a wide range of subjects, including Science, English, French and German, Geography, ICT, Maths, History and Music, alongside other engaging activities. From practical science experiments and interactive maths challenges to creative writing, language learning and musical performances, there was plenty to spark curiosity and excitement about secondary school life.

Students also had the opportunity to explore the school site, enjoy lunch together and spend time getting to know one another between lessons, helping them feel more confident and familiar with their new surroundings.

The feedback from staff was overwhelmingly positive. Our future Year 7 students demonstrated outstanding behaviour throughout the day, embracing every activity with enthusiasm, respect and maturity. They represented their primary schools exceptionally well, and it was wonderful to see so many new friendships already beginning to form.

Moving Up Day is an important milestone for both students and their families, and we hope everyone left feeling excited about the journey ahead. We are looking forward to welcoming the Class of 2031 back through our doors in September to officially begin their LSA journey.
