Headteacher's Blog #1

As I start my second year at LSA I'd like to thank you all for your support in implementing crucial changes. I don't by nature like much change in schools: routines, certainty and clarity are very much the bywords. Apart from some of the swift changes that had to occur at the beginning of last year, I tried to give lots of time and consultation to the changes that we made, thank you all for your support. The school is improving and will continue to do so. Our changes will now become tweaks, refinements and improvements.

This year has started so well, our young people have arrived back to school smart, well prepared and ready to learn. My walks around the school have found corridors eerily quiet and classrooms industrious and purposeful. The improvement is palpable and will help us sustain an excellent year's progress.

The theme of this week's assemblies has been accountability, about young people learning to take responsibility for themselves and not blame others for their mistakes. These are tough lessons to learn but taking accountability is what success is built on. Mistakes, if they are owned and considered become the road map for bright futures. Our young people are learning quickly to be accountable, can you please thank them all this weekend.

I have included an impact summary of last year's school improvement plan and our priorities for this year; I hope that it helps you see and understand the work that we are doing to continue improving this fantastic school​​. I start the year proud to be LSA!
