On Friday 12th July, our local MP mark Menzies officially opened the schools new sixth form and school council gardens. This project has transformed the entrance to the school from an overgrown jungle to a work of true beauty. It is thanks to dedicated members of the 6th form and school council that the project could be completed to such a high standard. The Garden was both designed and partially funded by Greg Anderton, chairman of the council and head boy for 2013, his garden nursery project 'Leafy Lytham' provided a range of plants alongside much advice. The kindness of Dobbies garden centres is not to be overlooked, they generously donated £400 worth of plants through their 'here we grow' scheme. Mark Menzies commented that the gardens show "true hard work of students who really care about their learning surroundings" and encouraged the council to continue working towards the "next big project". The school council hopes that students continue to enjoy and respect their beautiful new gardens.
