Lytham St Annes High School is delighted to celebrate Miss Gibbons, who was invited by The Duke of Edinburgh's Award to attend a special Gold Award celebration at Buckingham Palace.
The invitation recognised the exceptional dedication, leadership and commitment Miss Gibbons has shown in developing and supporting the DofE programme at LSA. Through her guidance and encouragement, hundreds of students have been able to take part in the award, building confidence, resilience, teamwork and valuable life skills.
The prestigious event formed part of the DofE's 70th anniversary celebrations and welcomed thousands of Gold Award holders, volunteers and supporters from across the United Kingdom. Guests heard from a range of inspirational speakers and celebrated the life-changing impact that DofE continues to have on young people.
During the event, Miss Gibbons also had the opportunity to meet Olympic champion Dame Kelly Holmes, one of the guest speakers at the celebration. It was a memorable moment and a fitting recognition of the positive impact Miss Gibbons has made through her work with DofE at LSA.
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award remains one of the most respected youth achievement programmes in the country, encouraging young people to challenge themselves, support their communities and develop skills that will benefit them throughout their lives.
We are incredibly proud of Miss Gibbons and grateful for the passion, enthusiasm and support she continues to bring to the DofE programme. This recognition is thoroughly deserved, and we look forward to seeing many more LSA students benefit from the opportunities DofE provides in the years ahead.
